There’s nothing like a meditation session with your children before bed. Actually, we find it such fun and so relaxing, it has become part of our bedtime routine. This is a moment that we come together as a family, sit quietly to reflect on our day and to gather good spirits for the night ahead.

My kids fully enjoy the experience. Right now, we’re listening to the children’s meditation app by Deepak Chopra “My Light Shines Bright“. The meditations are delightful for children : a nice 15 minute break which is just enough for them to sit still without squirming, clear instructions and great focus.

I like to discuss our meditation awareness afterwards with my little ones. This allows me to communicate in a playful way with my children and they understand immediately what is expected from them. Before sending them off to school in the morning, I will remind them to “switch on their light”. We often refer to the things we are “thankful” for. And the pleasure of “giving and receiving”.

Parenting with meditation is a great tool to open your children’s mindset to infinite possibilities, not to mention the benefits for their health. Meditation brings an opportunity to live happier and healthier lives. If I succeed in one thing, I hope it will be to give my darlings the courage to love.
